During the 2021 Bernina Gran Turismo, an event born in 2014 with the aim of keep the memory of the legendary Bernina Pass hillclimb race of 1929 and 1930 alive, I recorded these two 3-Wheelers being driven up the hillclimb course. In particular these two interesting pre-war are a 1929 Morgan Super Aero Special 3-Wheeler (number 2, fielded in the actual competive race and driven by Sue Darbyshire) and a Morgan 3-Wheeler 'Hale' from 1934 (number 24 with red wheels, driven by Tracey Cameron in the Regularity classification). They are powered by V-twin engines, probably a 1,229cc V2 for the first and a JAP 1,100cc for the second. If anyone has further and more detailed information regarding these two specific car, it would be amazing. Morgan has unveiled the Super 3, the successor to the mad 3 Wheeler. Henry Catchpole takes an in-depth first look. Morgan’s last three-wheeler left an ear-to-ear grin on the entire Carfection team. Morgan has made a raft of improvements and alterations to suit a variety of owners' styles and use cases. Chances are your Grandparents will recognize this vehicle before you do! That's because the Morgan 3 Wheeler has been around since the early 1900's. No though this cool cross between a motorcycle and a roadster has been updated and upgrade with 21st Century technology. The basic elements are still true to form: 2 wheels up front, a drive wheel out back, engine, and a gearbox. Speaking of the engine, this unit is made by S&S Cycle which is responsible for producing V-Twin motors for Harley Davidson. This open cockpit auto drives amazing! The Morgan 3 Wheeler has easily been one of the most talked-about vehicles in the years since its modern re-introduction by Morgan Motors, and it has been a car that Hitting Redline has been eager to film since this very car first arrived in Southern Vermont more than two years ago. Michael Hardyman's M3W story is one filled with more experience than most owners probably achieve; Michael has put over 10,300 miles on his car since he received the car, and has explored in that time much of New England and Vermont. The story of this Morgan is not one of garage-kept nostalgia, but rather of use and experience, and of using a legendary and historic vehicle for the unrefined, yet noble purpose of exploring the greatest backroads one can uncover.
