Banky W has finally broken his silence, almost a week after losing his bid to represent Eti-Osa at the House of Representatives under the People’s Democratic Party. The 41-year-old pastor, while preaching at The Waterbrooks Church, Lekki said he stands firm in his faith despite losing at the 2023 polls. In a viral video the father-of-one shared on his Instagram page, he said the Sunday Service was supposed to be the Thanksgiving service for his family and a time to testify to the goodness of God. Sadly, his electoral defeat left him short of words. It’s no secret that this is the second time the singer-turned-Christian musician will lose the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency Elections. In 2019, Banky W lost the seat to A.P.C. candidate Babajide Obanikoro. But he didn’t give up. Instead, after many political consultations, the newbie politician was advised to decamp to PDP to boost his chances of winning. Sadly, when pastor Banky W slept, the youths of Lagos planted Elupee. And the result is Thaddeus Attah, a Labour Party candidate coming victorious at the poll, beating Banky W by a landslide. Since the sad news went viral, many celebrities and fans of the brilliant singer have described Banky’s loss as unfair, insisting that the winner isn’t even known, didn’t campaign as much as he did, and doesn’t deserve the victory. Banky W’s reaction has also gotten his fans all riled up and asking if their fave was defeated at the last minute. #BankyW #nigeriaelection2023 #nigeriaelection #Nollywood
